AI Voice (Text-to-Speech)
Lao TTS — Native Lao Voice AI
Turn Lao text into a native-accent speaking voice — built and owned from scratch.

What it is
It's an AI that reads Lao text aloud in a real Vientiane accent. To build that voice we first created a Lao Voice Data-Collection Platform — a game-like web recorder where Lao speakers contribute licensed voice clips.

How it works
1. Lao speakers record
Lao speakers open the web recorder, read given prompts, and record (gamified with XP)
2. Check & clean
The system runs a 2-phase quality check, then auto-cleans the audio
3. Build the dataset
Admin does QC and exports a licensed, commercial-ready dataset
4. Train the AI voice
Use the dataset to train a VITS model that reads Lao text in a native accent
The problem it solves
There's no good Lao AI voice that can be used commercially and legally. Existing models are non-commercial or don't sound like a native speaker.
Why it's good
A native Lao accent — usable commercially and legally
Many uses — voiceover, voice chat replies, apps
The data is ours — collect once, reuse it
What it can do
- Game-like web recorder (48 kHz) with XP/levels/leaderboard
- 2-phase sound check + automatic audio cleanup
- Admin back-office: prompt management, QC, dataset export
- 3,300+ curated Lao prompts across ~14 categories
- Permanent public URL + Electron control app
How it's used
1Lao voiceover for videos / ads
2Let a chat system "speak" its replies in Lao
3Accessibility apps (screen reading) in Lao
